Sacred Places of Pilgrimage and Hope
As we journey through this Jubilee Year, the faithful are invited to undertake a pilgrimage of hope to sacred sites where they may obtain the Jubilee Indulgence, as granted by the Holy Father. Pilgrims who visit these designated Jubilee churches and shrines with a spirit of prayer and devotion will find them to be places of welcome and privileged spaces for the rebirth of hope (Spes non confundit, 24).
The indulgence may be obtained by making a pious pilgrimage to any official Jubilee site—including those in Rome and the Holy Land—or, in local ecclesiastical areas, by visiting a Cathedral, church, or sacred place designated by the local Ordinary.
In the Archdiocese of Southwark, sixteen (16) churches and shrines have been designated as Jubilee sites, where pilgrims may experience grace, renewal, and spiritual enrichment.
