We are pleased to announce that we are arranging a day pilgrimage to St Augustine’s Church and Shrine in Ramsgate on 26th August. St Augustine church was built by the 19th century architect, Augustus Pugin and it was his personal church where he is also buried.
The pilgrimage will be led by Fr Richard and whilst the plan for the day is still being finalised, a rough itinerary is as follows:
– 8.30 am (if by train), 9.15 (if by coach) Leave from Holy Ghost Church and travel down to Ramsgate
– 12 noon Mass celebrated by Fr Richard, followed by veneration of the Relic of St Augustine
– 12.45 pm Lunch and refreshments (bring a packed lunch)
– 2 pm Tour of the church and shrine (depending on numbers)
– 3.30 pm Benediction
– 4.00 pm Walk to the harbour and beach and refreshments at the Pavillion
– 6.00 pm Travel back to London (by coach or by train)
A plenary indulgence for pilgrimages to diocesan shrines will be granted with the usual conditions.

We would therefore kindly ask that you let Martin Galea know if you would like to attend by Sunday 26th July – please send him an email to martingalea1@btinternet.com
